This Privacy Policy explains how WEBISITY STUDIO LTD ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use PhotoToReminder (the "App"), and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
The types of information depend on how you use the App and what device permissions you grant.
A. Information You Provide in the App (Stored on Your Device)
- Account information: The App does not offer user accounts, so we do not collect usernames, passwords, or profile information for an account.
- Images you select or share: Screenshots/photos you choose to share to, import into, or capture in the App.
- Extracted text and dates: The App may perform on-device optical character recognition (OCR) to identify text and candidate dates from images.
- Items you create: Confirmed deadlines, optional titles/notes, reminder preferences, and related metadata you save in the App.
B. Support Communications
- Contact information: If you email us for support, we receive your email address and the content of your message (and any attachments you choose to send).
C. Device, Usage, and Diagnostics Information
- Device and app information: Device type, operating system version, app version, language/region settings, and time zone may be available to the App for correct functionality (e.g., scheduling reminders).
- Usage data: We do not run behavioural advertising and we do not intentionally collect analytics about how you use the App. However, platform providers may include limited usage context within crash/performance reports.
- Diagnostics: Your device operating system, Google Play, Apple App Store, or other platform providers may collect crash logs and performance data. We may access aggregated reports provided by these platforms to improve stability.
D. Location Data
- No precise location collection by default: The App does not request or collect your precise GPS location as part of normal operation.
- Approximate location via IP: If you visit our website or email us, your internet service providers or email services may infer approximate location from your IP address as part of standard internet communications.
E. Payments and Purchases
- No direct payment collection in the App: If we offer in-app purchases in the future, payments will typically be processed by the relevant app store (e.g., Google Play or Apple). We do not receive your full payment card details.
F. Notifications and Exact Alarms
- Local notifications: The App uses notifications to remind you about deadlines you set. These reminders are scheduled on your device.
- Android exact alarm permission: On Android, the App may request the ability to schedule exact alarms to deliver reminders on time.
2. How We Use Information
We use information for the following purposes:
- Provide core functionality: Import images you choose, run on-device OCR, help you confirm deadlines, store your items locally, and schedule reminders.
- Improve the App: Debug issues, improve reliability, and enhance user experience (including via aggregated crash/performance insights from platform providers).
- Support: Respond to your requests and communicate with you.
- Legal and safety: Comply with applicable laws, enforce our terms, and protect the rights and safety of users and others.
3. How Information Is Processed and Stored
- On-device storage: Items you create (deadlines, notes, reminder settings, and associated image files) are stored locally within the App's sandbox on your device.
- On-device OCR: Text recognition is intended to occur on-device. We do not operate an image-upload feature for OCR processing.
- No account required: Because we do not provide user accounts, we generally do not maintain a user profile or user database.
4. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in these cases:
- Service providers: Vendors who help us operate the App or our business (e.g., email provider for support). They may process limited information strictly to provide services to us.
- Platform providers: Google Play and/or Apple may process diagnostics, billing (if applicable), and other platform-level data subject to their own policies.
- Legal requests: When required to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- Business transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that process.
- With your direction: For example, when you use your device sharing features to export content to other apps or services.
5. Third-Party Services and SDKs
The App may use third-party libraries/SDKs for core functionality (for example: notifications, device APIs, and on-device text recognition). These third parties may collect or receive certain technical information as part of providing their services.
If we add analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or other third-party services in the future, we will update this policy accordingly.
6. Data Retention
- In-App content: Content you create in the App is retained on your device until you delete it within the App or uninstall the App.
- Support emails: We retain support communications for as long as needed to address your request, maintain records, and comply with legal obligations.
- Platform diagnostics: Platform providers may retain crash/performance data under their own retention policies.
7. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information, including by relying on device-level protections (app sandboxing and operating system security) and minimising collection. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights, such as:
- Access: Request information about the data we may hold about you.
- Correction: Correct inaccurate information (for App content, you can edit or update items directly in the App).
- Deletion: Delete App content in-app or remove it by uninstalling the App; you can also request deletion of support communications where applicable.
- Withdraw consent: You can revoke permissions (e.g., photos/camera, notifications) in your device settings.
- Opt-out of certain processing: Where applicable, you may object to or restrict certain processing.
To exercise rights related to information we control (such as support communications), contact us using the details below. For on-device data, the fastest way is typically to delete items in the App or uninstall it.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.
10. International Data Transfers
We are based in the United Kingdom. If you contact us by email, your information may be processed in the countries where we or our service providers operate. Platform providers (such as Google or Apple) may process data internationally under their own policies. We take steps designed to ensure appropriate safeguards when required by law.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Effective Date" above. If changes are material, we may also provide additional notice within the App or through other appropriate means.
